We are excited to welcome all the children back to school for a fun-filled year. Please feel free to talk to us or email if you have any queries or concerns. Our long-term plan for the year can be accessed on the website.

General Class Information:
Mrs Jones will be teaching the children on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday am.
Mrs Partridge will be teaching the children on Wednesday pm, Thursday and Friday.
Mrs Caton is our wonderful teaching assistant!
Do keep checking this class page for updates and reminders as we go through the year. Any vital or short-term changes to the school day will be sent out via text or email as usual.
Class Updates:
P.E will take place on Wednesday afternoon - please come to school dressed in the correct PE kit on these days (black shorts, leggings or joggers, white T- shirt, pumps or trainers). Long hair should be tied back and earrings removed before coming to school. PE will start in the second week of term on Wednesday 11th September.
Forest School will begin in the second week of term on Tuesday 10th September and continue every Tuesday afternoon - please come to school dressed in suitable outdoor clothing - long-sleeved trousers/leggings, a long-sleeved top and wellies or old trainers and a waterproof coat.
Here is a list of our weekly routines for your information:
Morning drop off - Children can be dropped off at the small wooden gate between 8.45 and 8.55 each morning. A member of staff will be at the gate and will relay any important messages.
Water Bottles - Children need a named water bottle in school daily. We encourage our children to drink water throughout the day and stay hydrated. Water is freely available from a water cooler by our classroom door. Bottles will be sent home at the end of each day for washing.
Morning snack - Children in Nursery and Reception are entitled to free school milk and fresh fruit each day. An additional snack of toast, crumpet or fruit loaf can be purchased through ParentPay (this new system is currently being set up by the office).
School Lunches - School lunches can be ordered through ParentPay. It would be useful if you could let your child know what has been ordered for them each morning.
Pick Up - The school day ends at 3.15pm. We try to come out slightly before the older children to ensure a smoother transition, and relay any messages. Please let us know in advance if somebody else will be collecting your child.
Toys - Please note that it is school policy that children do not bring toys or comforters to school unless requested to do so by the class teacher.
Change of clothes - Please could all children bring a change of clothes into school each day in case of accidents or getting wet or muddy etc. Any children toilet training should have additional changes of clothes, and wear clothing that is easy for them to pull up and down independently.
Please name all your child's clothing, particularly jumpers and cardigans - we have so much uniform left over at the end of each term!
Book bags - Please send books to school in book bags to ensure they do not get damaged. We will provide a free book bag to children when they first join our class.
Library book – all children can choose a book to share and enjoy with their family at home. Books are changed on Thursdays. In order to encourage your child to become a lifelong reader, it is important that they learn to read for pleasure. The sharing book is a book they have chosen for you to enjoy together.
Please remember that you shouldn’t expect your child to read this alone. Read it to or with them. Discuss the pictures, enjoy the story, predict what might happen next, use different voices for the characters, explore the facts in a non-fiction book. The main thing is that you have fun!
Reading practise book - Reception children will bring a reading scheme book home later in the term which will be at the correct phonic stage for them to read. Books will be changed on a Thursday.
Listen to them read/discuss the book. Remember to give them lots of praise – celebrate their success! If they can’t read a word, read it to them. After they have finished, talk about the book together. Please ensure the books are returned to school each Thursday. These books will have previously been read several times at school and the aim is that the children are able to read them fluently by the time they come home.
