Sports Events 2017 - 2018

Mrs Fish

Hi all

During the last few weeks of the Summer term, various children from years 3 to 6 took part in 3 arranged events.

The first event being an afternoon of sports with Woodcocks Well Primary School, arranged by Ministry of Sport. The afternoon was a success and the children thoroughly enjoyed working in mixed school teams.

The second event was an athletics tournament held at Northwood Stadium. Pupils from Years 4 to 6 attended. A huge congratulation to Isla Clarkson (Yr 6) who won Gold in the 800m and Hayley Wilby (Yr 6) who also won Gold in the Long Jump.

The third event was an Inclusive Sports Day held at Keele University, for children who do not usually attend any after school clubs or sports clubs. Selected children from Yrs 3 to 5 attended, as did all Year 6. The whole day was a huge success and the children enjoyed all the sports on offer to them.

Our fun sports afternoon, organised by Sports Coaching North West, also ran very smoothly and the weather stayed kind for us.

I attended a PE Meeting and submitted data to The Sainsbury's SchoolGames Mark. Castle Primary has once again achieved The Silver Award for our commitment and participation in PE and Sporting Events for 2017.

Happy holidays to you all!!
